Every freeze dryer needs to equalize pressure after a batch finishes — releasing the vacuum so you can open the chamber door.

Standard Single Valve System

By default, this is done using a single valve: the drain valve which handles two tasks:

1. Draining water from the chamber 💧

2. Releasing vacuum pressure by drawing air back in through the drain hose 💨

This dual-purpose setup works reliably for most users. However, because the drain hose can sometimes have resadue or be submurged in a full drain bucket, there’s a small risk that water gets pulled back into the chamber — potentialy runing the batch.

Upgraded Dual Valve System

The Pressure Release Valve adds a dedicated air inlet at the vacuum port — giving you two separate valves:

• One for draining moisture 💧

• One for equalizing pressure with a clean, dry air path 💨

This reduces the risk of moisture re-entering the chamber and gives you more control over the final stage of your freeze-drying process.
